Director Shankar is currently working on both Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 and Ram Charan's RC15. The production of both films are currently underway. Earlier this month, the director announced the second schedule of RC15 has commenced. Now, taking to his Twitter handle, he has announced that the filming of Indian 2 has been resumed. 

Kamal Haasan and Shankar's Indian 2 will reportedly hit theatres in the second half of 2023. Indian 2 is the sequel of the 1996 film, Indian. Indian 2 also features Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Siddharth, Guru Somasundaram, and Bobby Simha in prominent roles. Anirudh Ravichander is scoring the music, while Ravi Varman is the cinematography.

On the work front, after Indian 2, Kamal Haasan has films with directors Pa Ranjith and H Vinoth. He also has the tentatively titled KH 234 with director Mani Ratnam and Vikram sequel with Lokesh Kanagaraj.
