Actor Atharvaa is all set to headline debut director Ravindra Madhava's upcoming film Thanal. Opening up about the film, Ravindra says, "The film is an action-thriller that revolves around a painful situation that makes one person a hero and another one a villain. What happens when the two people meet, forms the crux of the story."

Backed by Annai Film Production, Thanal also stars Lavanya Tripathi and Ashwin Kakumanu in important roles. Speaking about the leading cast members of the film, he says, "I didn't want to cast anyone else for the role and I narrated the script only to Atharvaa. Ashwin Kakumanu is playing the villain for the first time and he has done a fabulous job."

Apart from the lead actors, Thanal also stars Sha Ra, Barani, Selva, Azhagam Perumal, Bose Venkat, Lakshmi Priya, Bhaarath, Thoufiq, Sarvhaa and Pradeep Vijayan in supporting roles. With Justin Prabhakaran composing the music, the Atharvaa-starrer will have cinematography and editing by Sakthi Saravanan and Kalaivanan, respectively.

The filming of Thanal has already been wrapped up, the film is slated for a release in March.
