Vaathi trailer out: Dhanush plays a teacher on a mission to correct the education system

Dhanush's upcoming film Vaathi, directed by Venky Atluri, is scheduled to release on February 17. Ahead of the release, the makers released the much-awaited trailer on Wednesday. 

Dhanush plays a junior school teacher named Balamurgan and Samyuktha too plays a teacher named Meenakshi. From the trailer, it looks like Balamurugan is on a mission to correct the corrupt education system. Vaathi also stars Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, Samuthirakani, Thotapalli Madhu, Aadukalam Naren, and Ilavarasu.

Centring around the educational system, the film is billed as a coming-of-age social drama. The film's technical crew includes cinematographer J Yuvraj, and editor Navin Nooli and the music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar. The Telugu version is titled Sir.
