It was a sad weekend for Tamil cinema as the industry was jolted by the deaths of some of its stalwarts. On Sunday, people woke up to the distressing news of the demise of well-known actor-filmmaker TP Gajendran.

An erstwhile assistant of filmmakers K Balachander, Visu, and Rama Narayanan, TP Gajendran directed around 15 films, and acted in a lot more.

While condolences continue to pour in for the filmmaker, his Pammal K Sambandham co-star Kamal Haasan took to social media to share his thoughts on Gajendran's death.

Kamal Haasan wrote, "Director TP Gajendran had the ability to tell anything he wanted with a liberal dose of humour. I express my condolences on his death."

Over the years, Gajendran had worked with stars like Rajinikanth, Prabhu, Vijay, Sathyaraj, Vikram, Dhanush, and Arjun.
