We had earlier reported that actors Losliya and Lijomol Jose will be starring in a Tamil film titled Annapoorni. The makers have now released a new still from the film.

The new poster features the leads, Lijomol and Losliya, who are sitting between painting of a woman. While Lijomol is carrying a hammer, Losliya is holding a scythe, thus forming Communist symbol.

Lional Joshua will be marking his directorial debut with Annapoorni.  The film also has Hari Krishnan, Dharani Reddy, Rajeev Gandhi, and Vairabalan in supporting roles.

"Annapoorni is about the exploitation of women in family and other societal settings. I was inspired by Periyar and Karl Max's ideologies. While Periyar observed that the family system exploits women, Marx noted that women's labour is undervalued even outside the family set-up. And this film reflects on both these theses," Lionel said.

Annapoorni's technical crew includes music composer Govind Vasantha, director of photography Hector and editor Kalaivanan. Yugabharathi has penned the dialogues and lyrics.The film is produced by KH Pictures in association with One Drop Ocean Pictures.
