The new schedule of Shankar's Indian 2 starring Kamal Haasan went on floors today in Gandikota, Andhra Pradesh. Videos and photos of Kamal Haasan landing on the set in a helicopter have gone viral on social media. Kajal Aggarwal also joined the shooting with the rest of the crew. 

Reportedly Kamal Haasan and Shankar's Indian 2 is to hit theatres in the second half of 2023. The sequel of the 1996 film, Indian 2 will be a continuation of the blockbuster. The film is set in the pre-Independence era. 

Indian 2 also features Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Siddharth, Guru Somasundaram, and Bobby Simha in other prominent roles.  Anirudh Ravichander is scoring the music, while the cinematography is handled by Ravi Varman.

On the work front, after Indian 2, Kamal Haasan has films with directors Pa Ranjith and H Vinoth in the lineup. He also has the tentatively titled KH 234 with director Mani Ratnam and Vikram sequel with Lokesh Kanagaraj.
