The makers of Vaibhav's Ranam released the first single, Ponnana Kannu song from the film, on Sunday. Composed by Arrol Corelli, GV Prakash Kumar has crooned the song. Sherief, who is the film's director, has penned the lyrics for the song. The song features love blossoming between Vaibhav and Saraswathi Menon's characters. 

Nandita Swetha, Tanya Hope, Saraswathi Menon and Suresh Chakravarthy are also a part of the cast of Ranam. The film, which is Vaibhav's 25th, marks the directorial debut of Sherief. 

In a previous conversation with CE, Sherief shared, "Ranam is an investigation thriller that revolves around a murder mystery. Vaibhav will be seen as a facial reconstruction artist in the film. One of the cases he takes up changes his life."

Madhu Nagarajan is backing Ranam under the Mithun Mithra Productions banner. Ranam will feature cinematography by Balaji K Raja and editing by Muneiz. The makers are yet to reveal a release date for the film.
