With the year almost coming to an end, the anticipation and promotional activities have begun for films that are hitting theatres early in January next year. Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth's upcoming directorial, Lal Salaam, is one of the many films that are a part of the Pongal race in 2024. 

With a month left to go, the makers of Lal Salaam have also kickstarted their promotions, with an announcement of the first single, on Sunday. Titled Ther Thiruvizha, the first song will be unveiled on Monday at 5 pm. AR Rahman has composed music for Lal Salaam.

Starring Rajinikanth in an extended cameo as Moideen Bhai, Lal Salaam also has cricketers and actors Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in lead roles. The character name of Vikranth has been kept undisclosed, but Vishnu will essay Thirunavukkarasu. 

A sport-political drama, Lal Salaam also stars Senthil, Jeevitha, Thambi Ramaiah, Ananthika Sanilkumar, Vivek Prasanna, Thangadurai, and KS Ravikumar among others. Kapil Dev will be playing a cameo role in the film. 

Backed by Lyca Productions, the film has cinematography by Vishnu Rangasamy and editing by Pravin Baaskar. Lal Salaam will compete with Dhanush's Captain Miller and Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan at the box office and is set to release additionally in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada.
