We had earlier reported that Dhanush is working on his sophomore directorial and his 50th film as actor, tentatively titled D50. The actor recently took to social media to announced that shooting has been wrapped up.

"My sincere thanks to the entire crew and cast. Also a big thanks to Kalanithi Maran sir and Sun Pictures for supporting my vision," he wrote. Sun Pictures is backing the film.

In D50, Dhanush will be playing the lead role. However, the makers are yet to announce the rest of the cast. Reports suggest that SJ Suryah, Dushara Vijayan, Kalidas Jayaram, Aparna Balamurali, and Sundeep Kishan will be playing prominent roles in the film.

Dhanush made his directorial debut with Pa Paandi in 2017, which starred Rajkiran, Revathi, along with himself in a cameo role.

Meanwhile, Dhanush will be next seen in Captain Miller which will be out in theatres for Pongal 2024. The film is directed by Arun Matheswaran.
