Actor Vetri who was last seen in Red Sandalwood, will be headlining an upcoming Tamil film titled Aalan. The film is directed by Siva R, who made Karotiyin Kadhali earlier.

Speaking to CE, the director said, "Aalan will be a love story told through the lens of spirituality and literature. Off late we have been seeing a lot of violence onscreen in Tamil cinema and amid this, we wanted to say a love story. The film will show the life of a boy since he was 15 to the age of 40. As he aspires to be a writer, a path suddenly pushes him into spirituality. Does love change him or not is the story.”

The film will feature German origin actor Madhura. “I wanted to show the richness of culture, literature and lifestyle and to show it from her perspective would be refreshing, I felt,” he added. The first schedule of the shooting was wrapped up recently in Kodaikanal. The makers are currently on the verge of finishing the second schedule in Chennai and Puducherry. They are looking to wrap the film after completely the shoot in Rishikesh and Kasi.

“We are looking to release the film sometime in February end or March beginning,” Shiva mentioned. The cast also includes Aruvi Madhankumar, Lal, Vivek Prasanna, Karunakaran among others.

Aalan has music scored by Manoj Krishan and cinematography by Vindhan Stalin. Kasiviswanathan is the editor. 3S Pictures is backing the film.
