On Friday, Prime Video announced that the latest film in the Pizza film franchise, Pizza 3: The Mummy, is now streaming on the streamer. The film hit theatres on July 28 and opened to mixed reviews.

The film marks the directorial debut of Mohan Govind. Backed by CV Kumar's Thirukumaran Entertainment, Pizza 3 stars Ashwin Kakumanu, Kaali Venkat, Raveena Daha, Pavithrah Marimuthu, and Gaurav Narayanan.

Earlier speaking to CE, the director had said that the film's protagonist will be running a restaurant. “When a series of murders take place at places where he delivers food, he begins to suspect something not right and goes on to probe to know who is behind the crimes. This will be a serious horror film. While Pizza 1 turned into a con film towards the end, this one will be an emotional horror film. We have not added any comedy elements for the commerciality,” he had said.

With music by Arun Raj, Pizza 3 will have cinematography by Prabhu Raghav, and editing by Ignatious Aswin.

Incidentally, all three instalments of the Pizza franchise were helmed by a debutant filmmaker. While the first film, Pizza, launched the career of Karthik Subbaraj, Pizza 2: The Villa was directed by debutant Deepan Chakravarthy.
