The first look of Criminal, the upcoming Tamil film starring Gautham Karthik and Sarathkumar in the lead roles, was released by the makers on social media on Friday.

The poster shows Gautham Karthik sitting on a chair, with handcuffs on one of his hands, while Sarathkumar standing on the side. He is seen wearing a cop shirt, and a lungi. Interestingly, the reflection on the side of the mirror shows an opposite reflection with Sarathkumar sitting on the chair with cop uniform.

Written and directed by debutant Dhakshina Moorthy Ramar, Criminal is produced by PR Meenakshi Sundaram and IB Karthikeyan under Parsa Pictures and Big Print Pictures.

In an earlier conversation with CE, the director said that Criminal is a murder mystery. Set in Madurai, Sarath plays a rural cop and Gautham plays an accused.

Criminal's technical crew includes cinematographer Prasanna S Kumar, music composer Sam CS, editor Manikandan Balaji and production designer Surya Rajeevan. The shooting of the film has been completed with post-productions nearing completion. A release date is yet to be announced.
