The makers of Hit List announced, on Wednesday, that the film's teaser will be released by Vijay Sethupathi on August 18. The film stars Vijay Kanishka and Sarath Kumar in lead roles, while director Gautam Vasudev Menon also plays a key role. 

The film is directed by Sooryakathir Kaakkallar and K Karthikeyan. Previously, the team released two posters. While one showed a reflection of Vijay against a shattered mirror, the other poster shows Sarath Kumar and Vijay’s images divided by a stranger. “Ignorance of the law is a crime” the poster reads.

The shoot for Hit List should be in the final stages. Smruthi Venkat is also a part of the film's cast. The film will be presented by KS Ravikumar.
