Ashwin Kakumanu pens a note on his role in Ponniyin Selvan II

On Friday, actor Ashwin Kakumanu, who was seen as Sendhan Amudhan in Ponniyin Selvan II, took to Twitter to pen a note on his role in the film. In Tamil, the actor wrote, "Was glad to be a small part of this epic. Bucket lists of working with Mani sir and working in an epic film were checked off. Enjoy watching PS2 in theatres!" 

In Ponniyin Selvan, Ashwin plays Sendhan Amudhan, who helps Karthi's Vanthiyathevan escape danger in many situations. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the film is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's literary magnum opus. 

The epic period film features Karthi, Trisha, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R Parthiban. 

The film is adapted by Mani Ratnam, along with Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan. Produced under the Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions banners, Ponniyin Selvan was shot by Ravi Varman, while AR Rahman composed the music. The technical crew includes editor A Sreekar Prasad and production designer Thota Tharani.
