On Monday, actor Parthiban, who will be seen as Chinna Pazhuvettaraiyar in the upcoming Ponniyin Selvan II, took to Twitter to pen a note on his role in the film. In Tamil, the veteran actor and director wrote, "The second part is to hit theatres on April 28. We are still unaware if my screen time in PS II is a lot or less. The trailer suggests a lesser screen space for my character."

Further, he added, "Even if my time in the film is short, like the moon in the sky, I am happy to have gotten the opportunity to light up the skies with other stars. Will be catching the film with friends in IMAX, on the first day itself. See you all on screen!"

In Ponniyin Selvan, Parthiban's Chinna Pazhuvettaraiyar is the younger brother of Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar essayed by Sarath Kumar. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the film is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's literary magnum opus.

Ponniyin Selvan also stars Vikram, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Karthi and Aishwarya Rai in lead roles. With music by AR Rahman, the film has cinematography by Ravi Varman and editing by Sreekar Prasad.
