We had earlier reported that the Taiwan schedule of Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 has been wrapped up. The shooting for the next schedule of the film has begun in South Africa. Costumer Amritha Ram took to social media to share the information while posting a photo of herself with the actor.

Directed by Shankar, Indian 2 is the sequel of the 1996 film. It is co-produced by Lyca Productions in association with Red Giant Movies. Indian 2 has been in production for several years now and had suffered a long delay after the freak crane incident that took place on the sets in February 2020.

The upcoming film also features Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Siddharth, Guru Somasundaram, and Bobby Simha in prominent roles. The film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while Ravi Varman handles the camera. Recently, Kalidas Jayaram also joined the cast, uniting with Kamal once again after Vikram.

A release date is yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, Shankar is simultaneously working on Ram Charan's forthcoming film Game Changer.
