Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai Part 1, the crime thriller starring Soori and Vijay Sethupathi, hit the theatres on March 31. The film opened to positive responses from the audiences. Recently, Superstar Rajinikanth watched the film and extended his wishes to the team. While the photos of his meeting with the team are going viral, the actor took to his social media to pen an appreciation note. 

He wrote, "The Tamil cinema has not seen such a premise so far. Viduthalai is epic. Soori's acting is marvellous. Ilaiyaraaja is forever the king of music. Vetri Maaran is the pride of Tamil cinema. Congratulations to the producers. I am eagerly waiting for the second part.

The film also starred Vijay Sethupathi, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajeev Menon, Bhavani Sre and Chetan, among others. The film has music by Ilaiyaraaja, cinematography by R Velraj and editing by R Ramar.
