Bombay Jayashri health update: Singer is doing much better now, says family

Earlier, we reported that singer Bombay Jayashri was admitted to the hospital following a sudden health setback. The latest health update from her family is that the singer is doing much better now. A statement, shared by her son, Amrit Ramnath, on his social media handle, read, "The doctors and staff are pleased with her steady progress. We thank them for their steadfast support and professionalism. We thank everyone for respecting Jayashri and her family's privacy as we dedicate all our energy towards her recuperation. We thank you again for all the heartfelt prayers and wishes for her swift recovery."

The eminent Carnatic singer was recently honoured with the Sangeetha Kalanidhi Award by the Music Academy. Jayashri is also a renowned playback singer who has sung songs like Vaseegara (Minnale), Ondra Renda (Kaakha Kaakha), Paartha Mudhal (Vettaiyadu Vilayadu), Pi's Lullaby (Life of Pi), Thaimai (Theri) and more. She has also sung in other languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
