On Monday, actor Kalidas Jayaram took to Instagram to confirm his presence in Shankar's upcoming film Indian 2. The film will mark Kalidas' second collaboration with actor Kamal Haasan after he played the latter's son in Lokesh Kanagaraj's Vikram. The actor has joined the entire cast and crew in Taiwan for their ongoing schedule. 

Reportedly Kamal Haasan and Shankar's Indian 2 is to hit theatres in the second half of 2023. The sequel of the 1996 film, Indian 2 will be a continuation of the blockbuster. The film is set in the pre-Independence era. 

The film also features Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Siddharth, Guru Somasundaram, and Bobby Simha in prominent roles. The film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while Ravi Varman handles the camera.
