Close on the heels of the release of Naane Varuven's first single, Veera Soora, the makers of the Selvaraghavan directorial have given a bigger update. 

The teaser of the film, which reportedly stars Dhanush in a dual role, will be released on September 15. The film, written by Dhanush himself, is backed by Kalaipuli S Thanu's V Creations. There are speculations that Naane Varuven will release on September 30, thereby clashing with Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan at the box-office. However, official confirmation of the release plans are yet to be announced.

Naane Varuven is Dhanush's first film with his brother Selvaraghavan after Mayakkam Enna (2011). Apart from sharing credits in the writing, the brothers are also acting together for the first time in this film. Naane Varuven also stars Indhuja Ravichandran, Elli AvRam, Prabhu, Yogi Babu and Shelly Kishore in pivotal roles.

With Om Prakash as the cinematographer of the project, Naane Varuven has editing by Prasanna GK. 

Naane Varuven also reunites the golden combo of Selvaraghavan, Dhanush, and Yuvan Shankar Raja for the first time in 16 years. The trio last worked together in Pudhupettai (2006). 

Meanwhile, Dhanush, who was recently seen in Thiruchitrambalam is also working on Arun Matheswaran's Captain Miller, and the Tamil-Telugu bilingual, Vaathi/Sir.
