Singer Bamba Bakya passes away

Singer Bamba Bakya passed away on Friday morning. He was 49. Although the cause of death hasn't been officially revealed yet, reports circulating online suggest cardiac arrest.

A frequent collaborator of AR Rahman, Bamba's discography includes 'Simtaangaran' from, Sarkar (2018), 'Pullinangal' from 2.0 (2018), 'Dingu Dongu' from Sarvam Thaala Maayam (2019), 'Kaalame' from Bigil (2019) and 'Bejara' from Iravin Nizhal (2022). More recently, his rendition, 'Ponni Nadhi'  from the upcoming Ponniyin Selvan garnered appreciation.

Apart from AR Rahman, Bamba collaborated with Hiphop Tamizha in Sivakumarin Sabadham and Anbarivu.

Khatija Rahman was one of the first people from the industry to respond to Bamba's demise. "Rest in peace, brother. Can't believe you have passed away. Such a wonderful person and musician," she shared on her Instagram story.
