Vikram's Cobra trimmed by 20 minutes

The Vikram starrer film Cobra, which released in theatres on Wednesday, has been trimmed by 20 minutes, the makers said in a statement posted on social media.

Cobra is directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu and released to mixed reviews. The film's runtime was three hours three minutes and three seconds. After many felt that the film was all over the place and convoluted, the makers have decided to trim the film.

In a statement posted, Cobra makers said, "Any movie is a form of entertainment specifically curated to cheer audiences and make them enjoy the cinematic experience. It is of great happiness to the team if content delivered is worth the audience time and ticket money. We heard you."

The note also mentioned that upon the suggestion received by the film fraternity, including film-goers, media and distributors, Cobra has been trimmed by 20 minutes.

The new version of Cobra will be available from Thursday evening shows, across states including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Cobra has been certified U/A and also stars Roshan Mathew, Srinidhi Shetty and cricketer Irfan Pathan in lead roles. The film has music by AR Rahman.It is edited by  Bhuvan Srinivasan.
