The makers of Ponniyin Selvan have released the looks of actors Sarath Kumar and Parthiban, from the film, on social media on Thursday.

While Sarath Kumar is playing the role of Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar, Parthiban will be playing Chinna Pazhuvettaraiyar. Ponniyin Selvan's first installment is scheduled to release in theatres on September 30.

Directed by Mani Ratnam, the upcoming epic period film features Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha,  Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R Parthiban. It is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1995 novel, and adapted by Mani Ratnam, along with Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan. It is produced under the Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions banner.

Ponniyin Selvan was shot by Ravi Varman, while AR Rahman composed the music. The technical crew also includes editor A Sreekar Prasad and production designer Thota Tharani.
