Following the release of Dhanush’s Naane Varuvean on 29 September, Producer Kalaipuli S Thanu visited director Selvaraghavan’s house and congratulated him with a garland. The film was released a day before Mani Ratnam’s period epic Ponniyin Selvan and yet managed to pull impressive box office numbers.

The film revolves around identical twins, played by Dhanush, who get estranged and lead completely different lives. They are forced to meet after one of the twins goes through a traumatic incident and is forced to meet his brother, who is known for his unhinged personality.

The film marks the return of the Dhanush-Selvaraghavan combo, who are returning to work together after the 2011 film Mayakkam Enna. The cast list of the film also includes Prabhu, Yogi Babu, Indhuja Ravichandran, and Elli AvrRam who is making her Tamil debut with the film. 

According to reports from the producer, the film crossed 10 crores on the first day of its release in Tamil Nadu. It is worth noting that the film received mixed reviews upon release.
