The makers of Varisu, Vijay’s 66th film, released a new poster on social media on Wednesday.

Vijay, sporting a uber-cool look, is sitting on a car bonnet holding a tea glass. The poster reiterated that the film will release worldwide for Pongal 2023. The tagline reads, "The Boss Returns."

Billed as a family entertainer, Varisu is directed by Telugu filmmaker Vamshi Paidipally, who marks his debut in the Tamil film industry. The film is backed by Dil Raju and Shirish under Sri Venkateshwara Creations banner. Vamshi has written the film along with Hari and Ashishor Solomon.

Besides Vijay, the film also features Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead, with Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj, Khushbu, Jayasudha, Srikanth, Shaam, Yogi Babu, Sangeetha and Samyuktha. The technical crew includes cinematographer Karthik Palani, editor KL Praveen and music composer S Thaman.
