As reported earlier, Aishwarya Rajinikanth is next directing Lal Salaam with Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth as the leads. Her father Rajinikanth is also playing an extended cameo role in the film, which has music by AR Rahman. The maestro has started composing for the film.

On Friday, he shared a video of him jamming along with Aishwarya Rajinikanth. He shared it with a caption, which reads, "Jamming with the most promising female director Aishwarya Rajinikanth for Lal Salaam in Mumbai."

This is Aishwarya's first collaboration with AR Rahman. While her directorial debut 3 had music by Anirudh Ravichander, Yuvan Shankar Raja composed music for her second film, Vai Raja Vai.

Lal Salaam, produced by Lyca Productions, is billed as a cricket-based film with political relevance. With cinematography by Vishnu Rangasamy and editing by Pravin Baaskar, the film is slated for a 2023 release.
