Director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi's OTT debut, Paper Rocket, has been renewed for a second season. The series, starring Kalidas Jayaram and Tanya Ravichandran in the lead roles, premiered on July 29, 2022 on ZEE5. 

The second season was confirmed by Kiruthiga's husband and actor-producer Udhayanidhi during the promotions for his upcoming film Kalaga Thalaivan. The actor stated that the Paper Rocket S2 will be Kiruthiga's next project and Udhay will also be soon producing a feature film directed by the Vanakkam Chennai filmmaker. 

Season one of Paper Rocket had music by Simon K King and cinematography by Richard M Nathan and Gavemic U Ary. It also starred Renuka, Karunakaran, Nirmal Palazhi, Gouri Kishan, Dheeraj, Nagineedu, Chinni Jayanth, Kaali Venkat, Poornima Bhagyaraj, GM Kumar and Abhishek Shankar.
