Nitesh Tiwari's film Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash in the lead roles, is gearing up for its November 05 release in theatres. Ahead of the theatrical release, the film's cast and crew are busy promoting it through stage events and interviews. Besides the large ensemble cast and the presence of Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari, one of the aspects of the film that excite audiences is its music. As reported earlier, the film has music by Oscar-winning composers Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman.
Adding to the excitement, actor-composer GV Prakash has also played a part in the project by singing a track for the historical epic. The PR team of the actor-composer-singer and Rahman's son, AR Ameen, revealed the news through social media. In a note shared by the PR team, Prakash said that he sang a track for Ramayana after he returned from Ayodhya and that he did not expect the opportunity to come his way.
"I did not know about it in advance. When I was on the way back from the airport, I received a phone call from Rahman sir, who asked me to sing a track for it," Prakash said. For the unversed, Rahman is Prakash's maternal uncle.
Coming back to Ramayana, the project is designed as a multi-part film. According to the makers, the film "tells the story of Rama, a prince bound by sacrifice; Ravana, an immortal king driven by vengeance; and the prophecy that binds their fates together."
The film also stars Ravie Dubey, Sunny Deol, Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, and Sheeba Chadha, among others. According to reports, the makers plan for paid previews ahead of the film's November 05 release.
