Amid the speculations about who would be directing actor-politician Kamal Haasan next, the makers dropped a delightful surprise last week by announcing that the actor will be once again joining forces with veteran director Mani Ratnam for KH234. The duo will be working together after 35 years since the release of their film Nayagan.

KH234 will be produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Studios, Kamal's Raaj Kamal Film International, and Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies.

Speaking about the project, Udhayanidhi, in an interview with India Glitz, has revealed about the project’s status and shared that the film will go on floors from August or September next year. “Kamal and Mani sir were in talks for collaboration and wanted me to look after the production. Mani sir has narrated three lines and the story is yet to be fixed. We will go on floors sometime in August-September next year. Meanwhile, the shooting of Indian 2 is happening at a fast pace currently,” Udhayanidhi said.

Meanwhile, Udhayanidhi has a handful of projects in the pipeline. He is currently expecting the release of Kalaga Thalaivan with Magizh Thirumeni, which is speculated to release on November 18. He also has Maamannan with Mari Selvaraj and a film with Raaj Kamal Films International which is expected to be a period drama.
