It was announced earlier today that Sunil has officially joined Karthi's 25th film Japan. Following that a new announcement has come out now stating that the actor is also a part of Sivakarthikeyan's Maaveeran, directed by Madonne Ashwin, who made Mandela starring Yogi Babu. Maaveeran will be dubbed and released in Telugu as Mahaveerudu.

Though Sunil has starred in multiple Telugu films as a comedian and hero, his role as an antagonist in Allu Arjun's Pushpa: The Rise, gave him pan-Indian visibility. It is said that his venture into the Tamil film industry is also triggered by the reach he got through the film.

Sunil was last seen in a cameo in Dulquer Salman-Mrunal Thakur's Sita Ramam, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. He will also be reprising his role as Mangalam Srinu in Pushpa: The Rule, which is currently on floors.

Maaveeran was last in the news for the cast announcement of Yogi Babu. The film stars Mysskin and Saritha in important roles and has Adithi Shankar playing the female lead. The film’s technical crew includes cinematographer Vidhu Ayyanna and music composer Bharath Shankar.
