Legendary music composer Ilaiyaaraja met superstar Rajinikanth at the latter's residence in Poes Garden, Chennai. The pictures from the meeting have gone viral on social media and fans have been speculating that the duo will reunite for a potential collaboration between the two.

Ilaiyaaraja, who turns 79 next week on June 2nd, is busy with the rehearsals for a special birthday music programme that is scheduled to happen in Coimbatore. According to a news report, the actor asked the composer about his schedule, and when the latter informed him about the rehearsals, the actor offered to escort him to the rehearsals.

Rajinikanth and Ilaiyaaraja have collaborated in over 60 films. Their last collaboration was for the 1994 film Veera.
