We had previously reported that Vijay Sethupathi will be headlining a silent film titled Gandhi Talks. It has now been reported that the film went on floors today in Mumbai. The film also stars Arvind Swamy and Aditi Rao Hydari in prominent roles.

The film is billed as a dark satirical comedy that will address pressing subjects prevailing in society such as capitalism and racism. Kishor Pandurang Belekar, best-known for helming Marathi films such as Sa Sasucha and Yeda will be headlining Gandhi Talks. According to the official synopsis, the film also draws references from Hindu mythology and the story of Samudra Manthan.

The film is being bankrolled by ZEE Studios. 

"Silence does speak a lot more than words in multiple situations and this film will prove the statement true. With so much happening around the world, 'Gandhi Talks' highlights the fractures arising in the society. As we gear up for the film to go on floors, we are positive that it would make a difference in how we look at things in multiple ways," the director said in a statement.

The film will have music by AR Rahman.
