Director H Vinoth has reportedly said that he will sue Metro producer J Jayakrishnan for Rs 10 crore as compensation for filing a plagiarism case against Valimai makers. Vinoth further added that Valimai is based on real-life events.

J Jayakrishnan had earlier filed a copyright case against the makers of Valimai claiming that the Ajith Kumar-starrer was based on his Metro

The case was filed in the Madras High Court seeking an injunction of Valimai's release on OTT. The producer had claimed that the story of Valimai is similar to his 2016 film Metro. However, the court refused to grant an injunction and ruled that there is no prima facie for copyright infringement.

Valimai, produced by Boney Kapoor, was released in theatres on February 24. It will soon premiere on Zee5. The film opened to mixed reviews from the critics, but performed well at the box office.
