Ilaiyaraaja to compose for AR Rahman's orchestra

Legendary music composers Ilaiyaraaja and AR Rahman are set to collaborate soon. The news came through a cordial interaction between the both on Twitter. AR Rahman welcomed the maestro to his Firdaus Studio on Sunday and shared a picture of the both on his social media platforms.

"Such a pleasure welcoming the Maestro Ilaiyaraaja to our Firdaus Studio... Hope he composes something amazing for our Firdaus Orchestra to play in the future!"

Responding to AR Rahman's tweet, Ilaiyaraaja tweeted earlier today, "Request accepted.. will start composing soon."

It is to be noted that AR Rahman played keyboard for Ilaiyaraaja before making his national-award winning debut with Roja in 1992. The interaction between the two celebrated musicians was met with warm reactions from netizens.

On the film front, AR Rahman has several films in the pipeline, including Ayalaan, Maidaan, Pathu Thala, Heropanti 2, Ponniyin Selvan, Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, and Mili in the pipeline.
