During the thanksgiving meeting of his latest release Veetla Vishesham, actor-filmmaker RJ Balaji revealed that he recently narrated a story to actor Vijay.

"On January 27, I got an opportunity to narrate a story to Vijay sir. It was a huge opportunity and I cherish the moments I got to spend with him. Although I took two months to prepare for it, I only got 40 minutes, and I just narrated the one-liner of the film. He really liked the idea and said, 'I expected a comedy or a family story like Mookuthi Amman, but this is big.' In fact, he was taken aback when I said pre-production for this film will take a year," said Balaji.

Further talking about Vijay's response to the reveal about the pre-production time, Balaji said, "Vijay sir was surprised and then I told him it took us five months to script Veetla Vishesham. I told him that the responsibility is even bigger when I direct a big star like him. Vijay sir also asked me to pitch in ideas whenever I want to. However, I did clarify with him that I am patient enough to wait till Thalapathy 77 or 87."

Veetla Vishesham, the Tamil remake of the hit Bollywood film Badhaai Ho, stars Sathyaraj, Urvashi, Aparna Balamurali, and Pugazh, among others. The film is produced by Boney Kapoor in association with Zee Studios, Bayview Projects LLP, and Romeo pictures.
