Voice artist-singer Chinmayi and her husband-filmmaker Rahul Ravindran welcomed twin children, a boy and a girl. The couple made the announcement on social media on Wednesday.

Posting a picture of them holding the babies' hands, the couple revealed that they have named their children Driptah and Sharvas.

While the news came as a pleasant surprise to fans, there were certain unwelcome comments that aimed to rain on their parade. Chinmayi, in a note shared on social media, wrote, "I'm absolutely loving these people who are DMing me asking if I had twins through a surrogate just because I didn't post photos of me being pregnant. Only those who were my innermost circle knew because I was protecting myself." The singer added that she was and will always be "extremely guarded" of her personal life, family, and friends. She also mentioned that photos of the newborns will not be shared on social media for a long while.

"And if you need to know I actually "sang" a bhajan during the caesarean as our twins entered the world. Get a grip of that... More on this later. But for now this is enough," the singer's note concluded.

It is to be noted that recently Chinmayi sang at a Twitter space where she revealed that she had breathing issues during the event.
