Viruman, the upcoming Tamil film starring actor Karthi in the lead role, has been censored with an U/A certificate at the Censor Board.

The film was first announced to come to theatres on August 11, but now reports suggest that it will arrive on August 12.

Directed by Muthiah, the film marks the debut of director Shankar’s daughter Aditi. She plays the female lead, along with cast consisting of Prakash Raj, Rajkiran, Saranya Ponvannan, Soori and Karunas. The film is produced by Suriya and Jyothika under their 2D entertainment banner.

Viruman’s soundtrack is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, the rights for which are already bought by Sony Music India. The story is said to be about a father-son relationship constructed around Muthiah’s signature rural action drama setting. The filming, which ended around December of last year, was done in and around Madurai and Theni.
