First single from Ponniyin Selvan to be out soon

A few weeks after the film's first teaser came out, the makers of Ponniyin Selvan have now announced that the first single from the Mani Ratnam directorial will be out soon.

The announcement was made through the Twitter handle of the film's production house, Madras Talkies along with a new poster featuring AR Rahman working in a recording studio.

Based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel by the same name, the film features a massive ensemble cast that includes Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu and Parthiban, among others.

The film has cinematography by Ravi Varman and editing by Sreekar Prasad. Mani Ratnam co-wrote the film with Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan. The first teaser of the film was released recently and has crossed 8 million views on YouTube. Conceived as a duology, the first part is scheduled to release on September 30.
