The long-delayed Sathuranga Vettai 2, which was originally scheduled to release in 2018, is finally set to complete its turbulent journey and reach its destination, the big screen. The makers have announced that the Aravind Swamy and Trisha starter will hit the marquee on October 7. The announcement was made with a new poster featuring the lead actors.

The sequel to the 2014 Natty-led heist drama is directed by NV Nirmal Kumar. Valimai director H Vinoth, who debuted with the original, has penned the story of the sequel. Bankrolled by Manobala through his production house, Manobala Picture House & Cinema City, Sathuranga Vettai 2 has music by Asvamitra and cinematography by KG Venkatesh.

The film ran into financial complications which hindered the original release plans. Although multiple release dates have been announced in the past, the film failed to keep its date with the audience. It now seems like the makers have finally resolved the issues.

Arvind Swamy's two other films, Naragasooran and Vanangamudi have also been delayed indefinitely. He has Kallapart and the Tamil-Malayalam bilingual, Rendagam, coming up. Trisha, on the other hand, has the highly-awaited Ponniyin Selvan duology and The Road in her pipeline.
