On his birthday, it was announced that Master Mahendran will be playing the lead in a new film titled Karaa. Debutant Avatar is directing the film, the first look poster of which got launched by actor Vijay Sethupathi.

Rajesh Kumar is producing the film under the banner of Bhavani Entertainment. It has cinematography by Williams, music by Achu Rajamani, and edits by Greyson.

Mahendran, who started off as a child actor, got his big break last year with the Vijay-starrer Master. The Lokesh directorial had him playing the younger portions of Vijay Sethupathi's villain role, Bhavani.

Today, on Mahendran's birthday, three of his projects have been announced. Besides Karaa, he is starring in a horror-comedy titled Ripupbury and another film titled Amigo Garage.
