Malayalam film Vikruthi is getting remade in Tamil as Payanigal Gavanikkavum. Vidharth will be playing the lead role in the film, which is set to stream on Aha Tamil.

The OTT platform is set to be launched on January 28.

Vikruthi directed by Emcy Joseph starred Suraj Venjaramoodu and Soubin Shahir as the leads. The film is based on true events that occurred on a metro train when a picture of a sleeping hearing and speech-impaired man was shared online by a passenger assuming he was drunk. The film explored how this incident affected him as well as the person who was responsible for taking the picture.

Suraj Venjaramoodu played the character with hearing and speech impediments. Vidharth will be reprising this role.

Vidharth, who was last seen as the antagonist in the Hiphop Tamizha-starrer Anbarivu, has around 8 films lined up for release.
