We had previously reported that actor Vijay is teaming up with director Vamshi Paidipally in a new film called Thalapathy 66. The latest update is that the film will commence its principal photography in March, with its launch is being planned later this month. "My next film with Thalapathy Vijay and Vamshi Paidipally will go on floors in March. It marks my first collaboration with Vijay and I am looking forward to it," said producer Dil Raju. 

Touted to be a family drama, Thalapathy 66 will see Vijay sporting two distinct looks with one of them appearing in the flashback. Grapevine indicates that the makers are considering Rashmika Mandanna for the female lead's role. The film has music by S Thaman and it marks his first collaboration with Vijay. 

Meanwhile, Vijay will next be seen in Beast. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the action entertainer also features Pooja Hegde as the leading lady. The makers are planning to release the film in April.
