As widely speculated earlier, Dhanush's upcoming film Maaran will skip theatres and premiere on Disney+ Hotstar.

The film's producer Sathya Jyothi Films and director Karthick Naren announced the same on Twitter, while also announcing that the motion poster of the film will be released tomorrow (Friday) at 6 PM.

Maaran, billed as an investigative thriller, stars Malavika Mohanan as the female lead. Malayali scenarist duo Suhas-Sharfu and lyricist Vivek are part of the film as additional writers. Master Mahendran, Samuthirakani, Smruthi Venkat, and Krishnakumar will be seen in supporting roles.

The film has music scored by GV Prakash Kumar. An official release date of the film is yet to be announced.
