Pa Ranjith hints at collaborating with Yuvan Shankar Raja soon

Music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja and director Pa Ranjith, who haven’t worked together so far, have hinted their collaboration may soon be on cards, during the Margazhi Makkal Isai event held in Chennai, on Thursday.

Margazhi Makkal Isai is a musical event which is organized by Pa Ranjith every year. Yuvan Shankar Raja was invited as the chief guest. Speaking at the event, Ranjith said about Yuvan’s father and veteran composer Ilaiyaraaja, “Ilaiyaraaja is an emotion for me, and it has been emotional journey for me. I see him (Yuvan) also in the same way. His music has moved me several times and I could resonate and relieve from my pain through his music. I am proud of seeing him on this stage and it only reiterates that no one can stop from attaining success.”

When asked if they will collaboration, Ranjith replied, “It will happen very soon. I will go to him soon.” To this, Yuvan responded, “I’m ready.”

While the duo did not divulge any details, it may be noted that Ranjith and Yuvan have not worked so far together. However, Ranjith at various instances has expressed his admiration for Ilaiyaraaja. The director also has referred the ace composer in his last film, Natchathiram Nagargiradhu where the protagonist is his ardent fan.

Meanwhile, Ranjith is currently shooting for Thangalaan with Vikram. The music is scored by GV Prakash. On the other hand, Yuvan is composing for Custody along with Ilaiyaraaja.
