Nayanthara’s upcoming horror film Connect is set to arrive in theatres on Thursday. Ahead of this, the makers released a video on the making of the film.

The film is directed by Ashwin Saravanan and backed by Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan’s Rowdy Pictures banner. Connect marks the second collaboration of the director with Nayanthara, after Maya (2015). The film also Sathyaraj, Anupam Kher, and Vinay Rai. It is written by Ashwin along with Kaavya Ramkumar.

With Connect set during the lockdown period, Ashwin said, “Every family, around the world, has been affected by the lockdown, one way or the other. This film will give a good horror experience. We have worked on how much we can treat the visual space scary.” Actor Haniya Nafisa who plays a prominent part in Connect said, “Obviously, it is a very scary film. At the end of the day, everybody would be able to relate to at least to a small part.”

Mentioning that it has been a while since a “good, solid” horror film has come, Vignesh said, “Like a crescendo, it just elevates from one part to another.”

The technical crew of the film consists of cinematography by Manikantan Krishnamachary, with music composed by Prithvi Chandrasekhar. Richard Kevin has edited the film. It is to be noted that the film’s runtime will be 99 minutes and the makers have intended to release without an intermission.

“Visually speaking, we have tried our best to present it immersive,” said Manikantan, while Rajakrishnan MR, who worked on the re-recording said, “I really love this film to be in theatres. When silence starts kicking in, you will get the fear.”
