We recently reported that Suriya has opted out of director Bala's upcoming film, Vanangaan. Bala put out a statement noting that the decision for Suriya to opt out of the project was taken in the best interest of everyone in the team.

A few days after this announcement, the speculations are rife that Atharvaa, last seen in Pattathu Arasan, will replace Suriya in the upcoming film. 

It may be noted that Atharvaa earlier worked with Bala in the 2013 film Paradesi. However, the makers of Vanangaan have not yet officially announced the replacement. Initially, Vanangaan was supposed to be produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment. But the makers also noted that they are stepping out of this project. So the new production banner associated with the project is yet to be announced. Vanangaan stars Krithi Shetty.

Meanwhile, Atharvaa has a handful of projects, including Address, Othaikku Oththa and Nirangal Moondru.
