Kamal Haasan expressed his condolences on the death of film producer K Muralidharan, who produced the actor's 2003 film Anbe Sivam

Muralidharan, also an Ex-Tamil Producers Council President, passed away in Kumbakonam due to a heart attack. Taking to Twitter, Kamal wrote, "K Muralidharan, who has produced many hit films under Lakshmi Movie Markers, has passed away. I remember Anbe Sivam's shoot days. Condolences."

Apart from Anbe Sivam, in association with V Swaminathan and G Venugopal, he produced several major films like Pudhupettai and Bagavathi, under their banner Lakshmi Movie Makers.

K Muralidharan's banner has also delivered commercially successful films with almost every leading actor, including Karthik, Sarathkumar, Ajith Kumar, Vijay, Suriya, Rambha, Vijayakanth, Meena, Khushbu, Parthiban, Dhanush, Silambarasan, and Jayam Ravi.

Muralidharan turned producer with the 1994 film Aranmanai Kavalan, starring Sarathkumar. The production company went on to deliver blockbusters like Karthik's Gokulathil Seethai and was behind some of the biggest successes in the 90s and mid-2000s. Their last production venture was the Jayam Ravi-starrer Sakalakala Vallavan.
