Vijay Deverakonda on whether he would like to join the Lokesh Cinematic Universe

The actor said he liked watching films by directors like Vetrimaaran and Lokesh Kanagaraj

In a recent press interaction, Vijay Deverakonda revealed that he is excited at the possibility of joining the Lokesh Cinematic Universe. The actor came to Chennai to promote his upcoming film Liger. In the event, he was asked about returning to Tamil cinema, his last Tamil film being NOTA which was released in 2018. The actor said he liked watching Vetrimaaran and Lokesh Kanagaraj films.

In a follow-up question about whether he would like to join the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, the actor said he is looking forward to it happening. "I am waiting for a call from him to get on board his universe," he said. The Lokesh Cinematic Universe aims to connect some of the directors Lokesh’s films in the style of cinematic universe prevalent among superhero films in Hollywood.

Lokesh Kanagarj’s recent release Vikram, which starred Kamal in the lead, and Kaithi which starred Karthi were both confirmed to be part of the ongoing LCU. The director is yet to announce his future projects which might become part of the LCU. Liger, starring Vijay Devarakonda, Ananya Panday, and Ramya Krishnan is scheduled to release on 25 August.
