Lokesh Kanagaraj recently took to Twitter to announce his decision to stay off social media for a while. The director revealed his decision right as Vijay fans were eagerly awaiting updates for the upcoming Thalapathy67

The director’s recent release Vikram, which brought Kamal back to the action genre, was noted for its focused narrative and a tightly packed script. The film opened on 3 June 2022 and quickly rose to the top of the box office and held its position amid other big budget releases.

In a recent appearance at an event, the director explained his decision to take a break. While talking about his sudden decision Lokesh said, as much as he enjoys the tremendous success of Vikram, he doesn’t want to stagnate in the same place. He also wanted to concentrate on the script for Thalapathy67 and doesn’t want to get carried away by the positive responses for Vikram. Lokesh is known for taking his time to craft a focused script but the conscious choice to stay away from social media is something new for the filmmaker.

Following the success of Vikram, Lokesh wasted no time in announcing his next with Vijay along with the news that Vikram is going to be a part of a larger universe of stories. Details regarding the plot and casting for Thalapathy67 are being kept under tight wraps since the director is busy writing the script.
