CE Features

Actor Yogi Babu, who was last seen in Legend, has been roped in for the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Maaveeran.

The makers announced the new casting update on social media on Thursday. Earlier, it was announced that Aditi Shankar, who is making her debut with Viruman, will play the female lead, while the film also has veteran actor Saritha and filmmaker Mysskin.

It was rumoured that Mysskin might be playing the antagonist in the film. The actor-filmmaker, who was last seen in an enterprising cameo in Bachelor, has previously worked in films like Super Deluxe, Savarakathi, and Suttu Pidikka Utharavu. On the other hand, Maaveeran will mark the comeback of Saritha to Tamil cinema after Ceylon (2013) and June R (2006).

The Sivakarthikeyan-starrer has been titled Mahaveerudu in Telugu and will release in both languages. Maaveeran will mark the second film of National Award-winning filmmaker Madonne Ashwin after Mandela. The film’s technical crew includes cinematographer Vidhu Ayyanna and music composer Bharath Shankar.
